Author :

Abstract

This study compares and analyzes the political news coverage on the front page of the main Indian daily newspapers. Through an analysis of how political events, issues, and personalities are portrayed, this study sheds light on the editorial decisions these newspapers make that influence how the public views politics. It examines news reporting elements such as tone, prominence, framing, and selection bias, providing information on how various newspapers prioritize political content. Variations in coverage across newspapers with varying opinions on politics, geographic locations, and readership demographics were evaluated using a comparative method. This paper aims to understand how the media shapes political discourse in India and how editorial strategies affect public perception.
